Kafe 1788 is a new vibrant cafe, serving rich coffees directly sourced from Haiti (thanks to owner Richard), teas and tempting cakes – the peanut butter muffin is a firm favourite! For lunch, try a freshly made toastie or lighter salad for no more than a fiver. With all these tasty treats on offer, the cafe is the perfect venue for coffee catch-ups, long lunches, and weekend chilling.
Kafe 1788, named after the most profitable year in Haiti’s history, is also a great art space and lively community hub. Whether you’re into yoga, film or open mic nights, there are regular events to cater for all interests. Don’t forget to venture down the spiral stairs at the back to take a peek at some fantastic art work.
For suggestions or venue booking, Richard and his close-knit, friendly team are always happy to help.
