St Nicholas’ (or Nick’s for short) is the sister parish church to All Saints’ with a very unusual history.
Shortly after being built in 1955, the church was closed in 1969 and turned into a vinyl record warehouse! After spending most of the 90’s as a centre for a great deal of community work, it was finally re-opened as a place of worship in 1998, and formally re-dedicated in 2000.
Make sure you look up when you visit so that you don’t miss the breathtaking ceiling mural, and also the remaining ceiling marks from the stacks of vinyl records!
