Poplar Union is a new arts and community centre, looking out onto both the Limehouse Cut and Bartlett Park. It’s large french windows give a great view over the park on sunny days.
It is a communal, social and creative space open to all. There is a full programme of activities for local residents, including health classes, fitness, live performances, children’s entertainment and comedy. It even has a waterside activity centre round the side where you can canoe, kayak and paddle board on the Cut.
Another reason to check out Poplar Union is its bar/cafe, and soon-to-fire-up pizza oven!
There are two spaces for hire – Betty and Mike – named after prominent residents from the Lansbury Estate. Betty is a large studio space, and Mike is a meeting room which can used for performances, live music, meetings, photography shootings etc. The spaces can be booked through Poplar Union’s website
